SE, a specific approach to somatic therapy, developed by Dr. Peter Levine, is based on the idea that traumatic experiences can lead to dysfunction in our nervous system, which keeps us from fully processing the experience and the resultant shock energy stays trapped in the body. It helps us to access and address the trauma that lingers in our body, thereby enabling to work through emotional symptoms including feelings of anger, guilt and shame. SE uses SIBAM (Sensations, Imagery, Behaviour, Affect, Movement) to track-down the neural networks, which hold trauma in the brain and body.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an extensively researched and highly effective psychotherapy technique. It is a proven method aimed at helping individuals recover from trauma and various other distressing life experiences including the following:
It is a powerful and effective therapy and is highly recommended for successful treatment of trauma.
Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. It is a simultaneous form of diagnosis and treatment, enhanced with BioLateral sound, which is deep, direct, and powerful yet focused and containing.
Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE®) is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. The exercises safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.
It’s reflexive muscle vibrations generally feel pleasant and soothing. After doing TRE®, many people report feelings of peace and well-being. It has helped many thousands of people globally.
Our childhood experiences forms the basis of our attachment styles, which get replayed in our daily emotional landscape, our relationships and how we feel about ourselves. In the wake of a traumatic event(s), that attachment style can deeply influence what happens next and may disrupt our most important connections with ourself, with others and with the world in general. Power of attachment helps us to restore love, wholeness and resiliency in our lives.
